Adams Needle

Yucca filamentosa



Sword-like leaves, flowering stalk (6 ft tall), seed pods, perennial, cactus/succulent, and blue/green leaves. 


Adam’s Needle (Yucca filamentosa) has large white flowers that provide a nectar source for butterflies and other insects, as well as hummingbirds.


Grasslands, and dry sandy soil. East Coast (Maryland to Florida).


Flat Lancets, grows in starburst pattern, hairy edges, blue/green, and spikes on tips.

Flowers & Berries:

White bell-shaped flowers grow at the top of stalk, Seed pods to follow.
