Description:

Deciduous tree, 50-75 ft Tall, conical shaped, flat topped in old age, feather-like needles, exfoliated bare bark, conifer, perennial, knees appear in aquatic environments. 

Habitat:

Southeastern America from Delaware to Florida. Edges of wetlands, coastal areas, swamps, shallow ponds, and poorly drained areas.

Foliage:

Sage-green feathery needles. Color changes to copper before falling.

Flowers & Berries:

Cones mature in the fall.
