This milkweed grows in wet soil. Milkweed plants are the sole food source of the monarch butterfly larva.

Soil Moisture: moist to wet

Light: full sun to part shade

Soil pH: Prefers neutral to slightly acidic soil but will tolerate heavy clay soils.

Height: 4 to 6 feet
