Eastern Mud Turtle: April 2010

Eastern Mud Turtle

The Eastern Mud Turtle has a double-hinged plastron. A key feature in identifying this turtle from similar looking turtles is the pie shaped pectoral scutes on its plastron (the underside).

Found at Elms by first graders from Leonardtown Elementary School, April 2010.
