Wheel Bug (Arilus cristatus) October 2011

This super cool looking bug is called a wheel bug. Check out its beak! It can stab it into its prey such as a caterpillar and then squirt enzymes into it. This turns the caterpillar’s insides into a nutritious slurpy for it to drink up.

Beware it can sting you too if you aren’t careful!
